Our youth development professionals provide excellent academic support year-round. Whether you’re in a school year or a summer program, young people receive support for their academic development while growing and thriving.
HEALTH & WELLNESS
Trained staff provide students with behavioral health and wellness support. Students explore and form their identities in a judgment-free space. Trauma-informed care practices create a positive learning environment for every student.
STEAM, SPORTS & RECREATION
Students are introduced to a wide range of healthy lifestyle activities in our programs. From science, art, and technology to different sports and enrichment activities, students are introduced to a variety of opportunities to nurture their minds and bodies.

With a safe and supportive culture and climate, students succeed in school and life. Our comprehensive strategies support the development of young people. We focus on building strong family partnerships so families can fully engage in their child’s school community. This community school model also provides behavioral and health and wellness support.

With a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment, students are empowered to learn, grow, and thrive in school and in life. Our comprehensive approach provides academic support, enrichment opportunities, and wellness programming that nurture the whole child. Through strong family partnerships and the Beacon Community School Model, families are encouraged to actively engage in their child’s educational journey while students gain access to behavioral, health, and wellness support.
VISION ACADEMY (1-8)

This program combines daily support for homework and academics with character and leadership development. With a wide variety of enrichment and recreational activities, we help students thrive. There is a large focus in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. Some students may qualify for van pick-up services from select schools.
LATINX-NEWCOMER SUPPORT GROUPS (K-12)
Latinx-Newcomer Support Groups (K-12th grade)
Located at Everett Middle School, James Lick Middle School, Thurgood Marshall High School & other additional SFUSD schools
Our support groups help students to connect and navigate identity exploration and formation. Students participate in team activities and learn techniques to develop a strong sense of self-worth, confidence, and critical thinking skills. From altars to cultural events, students explore cultural identity and share their values to their greater community with pride. Students complete self-assessments to reflect on their growth and development and set goals for themselves and next steps to continue to improve.
ÉXITO ESCOLAR (6-12)
Éxito Escolar (6th-12th grade)
Currently serving Everett Middle School and Thurgood Marshall High School
Éxito Escolar is a culturally responsive academic success and coaching program designed to support the needs of Spanish-speaking immigrant students in building strong foundations for long-term educational success. Through small-group tutoring, homework assistance, mentorship, and parent engagement, we empower students to strengthen their literacy, math, and social-emotional skills in a nurturing, bilingual environment. Our goal is to foster confidence, academic achievement, and a strong sense of belonging in school and their communities.
LITERACY PROGRAM (1-12)
Literacy Program (1st-12th grade)
Good Samaritan’s Literacy Program is a year-round, bilingual initiative supporting the needs of newcomer and Multi-Language Learner (MLL) students at San Francisco’s Newcomer pathway schools and beyond. Through culturally responsive curriculum like the Latino Family Literacy Curriculum and Student Treasures, our program empowers students to grow in reading and writing, while engaging families as essential partners in their children’s learning journey. With small-group instruction, individualized assessments, and wraparound support, we create a safe, encouraging space for students to develop confidence, academic skills, and a love of literacy.

Bayview
- Vision Academy Camp (1-5)
Fun camp activities that also boost academic skills. Campers create a “vision” for living their life.
- Willie Brown Camp (6-9th Grade)
Through projects, campers learn science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Mission
- Mission Mapaches Camps (6-8th grade & 9-12th grade)
Activities for newcomer students to build self-esteem, bi-cultural identity, and belonging.
- Soccer Camp (K-2)
Spanish language camp to learn soccer in an outdoor setting and develop life skills.
- Jardin Secreto Camp (K-2)
Learn to garden, cook, create art and theater, and develop life skills by working together. (Bilingual)
